The More Connection Cam Setup Guide

The More Connection Cam is a unique product that simply corrects the angle of your webcam so that you can look directly at the person you are talking with on the screen in front of you, while looking into the lens of your webcam at the same time. No weird AI eye correction where you are always staring, and no screen obstructing camera that sticks on top of the person's face you are speaking with. When 2 devices are used in one-on-one video calling scenarios, both people feel as if they are able to actually make eye contact. The device is really just a box with a two way mirror inside of it, but the ability to actually make eye contact with someone else on a video call can be pretty impactful.

Without further ado, let's get you set up.

1. Setting up Your Phone as a Webcam

First, your phone must be connected to your laptop as a webcam.

If you have an iPhone and a Macbook

Simply update your IOS to IOS Ventura or later (on both your phone and laptop), and simply switch on the continuity camera function in settings.

If you have any other computer and laptop combination

Download the application Camo, a free application that allows for any phone to be used as a webcam for any device. Camo is on the App store and Google play store, and works for Windows as well as macOS. A detailed guide for setting up the Camo app on your computer and phone can be found at this link. There are also several other applications that enable phones to be used as webcams, but we found Camo to be most reliable.

Camo connects your phone to your laptop using bluetooth, but if you find that the video is delayed or slow, connecting your phone to your laptop via USB cable will reduce any delay in video.

2. Setting Up The More Connection Cam

• Turn the brightness all the way up on your computer screen
• Make sure to turn off Portrait Orientation-Lock on your phone, so that when you turn the phone horizontally, the video also flips horizontally
• Open the More Connect Cam, let the mirror drop down, and place the top panel of it over the top edge of your laptop screen, so that the top edge fits between the latches
• Slide your phone camera-side up into the bottom strap, position the camera in the camera-slot in the bottom panel, and adjust as needed to make sure the sides of the bottom panel aren't showing on the video feed and that the camera is straight
• Position your video call window center screen, and if your video is upside down, adjust your laptop screen all the way back (away from you) until the video turns right side up
